Budapest and Monty Python
As you may have noticed, I have made some updates to the site. There is content (of some sort) on all the pages. The photos page has links to all my Flickr! stuff, my contact information (well some of it) is there, the archives are all linked and I have even finished naming and posting all my photos from Flickr! to my blog.. so if you want to see my earlier adventures then go back through the archives. I've even updated what Im reading, watching etc. This all links to Amazon stuff so buy! buy! You dont have to but I would be chuffed if just one person purchased a book or something I recommended. Actually I would be chuffed if any of the following happened - Someone linked me, subscribed to my blog in Bloglines, there was an article in PopDex or Technorati about my site and I actually got regular comments.
But enough about that...
Phil and I flew into Budapest last Thursday morning (after doing the 2am Luton mission again) and into a balmy -18C. It was freezing but nice and sunny. After going to our hostel in Central Pest (woohoo a proper double bed and a tv but lets not talk about the rest) we decided to check out the local area. Visited the National Museum of Hungary which was very interesting and then had dinner at a restaurant called Arany Pince. Definitely recommend the Hungarian wine from the Eger region.. very nice red wine. Over the next few days we had a big dump of snow, went to Statue Park, visited 3 art galleries, crossed the chain bridge, visited the Gellert Baths, found the most amazing restaurant called Fatal where they had courses so large Phil actually didnt finish one. Ate lots of strange pastry things whose names I can't spell or pronounce. I had a really good time and was absolutely shattered when I got back.
Last night we went to see Monty Pythons Flying Circus In French (with subtitles.) was very enjoyable. Except for the bits they were ad libbing and I couldn't understand it. I knew it was funny because Phil was pissing himself, the actors were pissing themselves and the half of the audience who understood French were pissing themselves. Thumbs up but its only on for another week or so at Riverside Studios.
Well thats all, almost 6pm and time for the pub!
