Back to Normal

After enduring a very quiet Friday by normal standards, yesterday I got back on the tube. I thought the sooner I got it over with the better. Phil had to go to Waterloo to catch the Eurostar and I wanted to see him off. We caught the District line to Embankment and then the Northern line down to Waterloo. I must admit, I was a bit nervy and did notice a lot of people looking around, looking at peoples bags. I feel sorry for the decent, law abiding Muslim people of London who are going to cop flack and have people eye them suspiciously because of the link with Al Queda.

After that, I got back on the Jubilee line eastbound and caught it all the way to Stratford. All the Olympic bid stuff is everywhere but it seems tarnished now because of what happened on the 7th July. I caught the Central line up to Leytonstone and went (finally) to Primark... so excellent. Spent about £70 and came back with a pair of pants, long skirt, jacket, hoodie, 2 tops, a shirt, 3 belts, some earrings and a bag. It was excellent. I also bought 3 pairs of shoes from a place just up the road.
After that I headed home on the Central line and then caught the Docklands Light Railway that goes past our apartment to Bow Church. 5 different lines in one day. I used to enjoy the Underground, as long as I had a seat. No one can phone you and you can just sit and read or think about things. When I was freelancing a lot, the Underground was the only time I had to myself but for now, Im going to be a bit anxious about being down there.

Well, Im off to the Tate Sedate with a friend of mine from work. Should be a lovely day as the weather is beautiful!
