So this is Christmas...

Why on Earth have I been singing that song for like days? John Lennon's Happy Xmas song in case you don't know it... over and over and over.. Im well over it. Not that I don't like John Lennon or anything but Christmas songs are just *scrunchs face.

Its my last day of work for like 10 days or something. We are off on the Eurostar tonight to Belgium. Phil's Mum accidently ordered him first class tickets so I decided to upgrade mine. 3 course meal and champagne? oh yeah! Not to mention priority check-in as well. I have always travelled cattle class/budget airlines so Im really excited about getting to be a bit posh for once. For effect, I should have bought those giant sunglasses that celebs seem to wear (even indoors) if they should have to go anywhere near the general public.

Anyways not much skiving for me today, I actually have work and am actually trying to get stuck into it. Its a bit hard when the few people left in our office are already into holiday mode.

Have a great Chrissy and stay safe. I will be back online around the 29th/30th Dec if anyone wants to get in touch.

Sorry about the lack of posting. Thursday at my work do was a bit messy. Worse than a bit actually. Im seriously thinking of swearing of drinking ever again. Except in a responsible, one or two glass, way.

Bored

My friends, Mel & Les, left for Germany yesterday. They left us some flowers, wine and biscuits, which was really nice of them. It was nice having them stay. I really appreciated the company. Especially because they were friends from home around what is normally quite a difficult time for me. They are going to stay in January again for a few days, whilst they travel around England a bit more. Im really hope I've been of use and saved them some money by putting them up. Too many people don't come to Europe because its too expensive (from Australia that is) and well, I hope more of my friends travel and come visit me. Its a great place to see and of course, I miss my friends.

Its still quiet at work today, I think I have exhausted my list of things to do.

- Reply to emails (check)
- Post on HumHum (check, check, check and more checks)
- Play with my photos on Flickr (check)
- Post some stuff to my blog (check)
- Read various blogs (check)
- Read the People magazine website (check)..

Well only a little while to go. Christmas Party for work tonight. 3 course meal and booze. I don't really feel in the mood, sometimes things just bother me about how genuine people really are but I think thats me just being overly pessimistic.

Arggh sickies

The Edvard Munch exhibition at the Royal Academy wasn't too bad. Although as it was right near the end the focus was on their new China exhibition. The gallery space allocated to it seemed quite small but maybe other's I have been to a significantly larger. I managed to pick up a catalogue for only £8. Bargain. I went shopping after that and had to stop myself from buying a Karen Millan dress - it was so nice but too expensive for me. Doh!

I had a nice birthday yesterday, thanks to those who emailed, called, texted etc. Very muchly appreciated. Melissa & Les arrived from Gatwick at about 1pm in the afternoon and we tucked into a nice "Continental Breakfast" brunch then headed out to walk the full length of the South Bank. We stopped in a pub just near the end for a drink then headed back home to have a nice roast dinner and christmas pudding with cognac butter and cream from Fortnum & Mason.

Im at work, although I may go home early as I feel like toasted ratshit this afternoon. Started feeling a bit dicey yesterday and have significantly got worse since. Grrrr.

Me in Times Square

So I've finished sorting through my NYC photos and you can see them here for the whole lot. There are so many so its best to look at it that way.

Today Im just chilling before I got to the post office and send the rest of my Chrissy stuff. Im going to head to the Royal Academy and then to the Tate. The Edward Munch Exhibition at the RA finishes tomorrow so I want to check that out and I really want to see the exhibitions at the Tate Britain or Modern. The Turner Prize is on and so is Degas, Sickert and Toulouse-Lautrec. If its not too late, Im going to head to the Tate Modern to see Henri Rousseau as well. I may leave that until tomorrow.

Im 25 tomorrow which is quite a scary thought. I guess not so scary as being 30 or 40 or 50 but still I dont want to be old.

Anyways better get moving before the post office closes again!

Its oh so quiet!

Its so quiet at work atm, I meant to post today (and yesterday) but was too busy playing with my Flickr photos and writing Christmas cards. I need to send those buggars on the weekend, along with a couple of packages. Im hopefully going to get up early to make a tilt at the post office in order to avoid the queue (and the closing time). Want to go to the Tate's too but need to clean as I have friends from Aus arriving Sunday. Its not particularly messy here but I hate people being over and there being clothes everywhere. Phil and I have a bit of a habit of spreading our clothes everywhere but the wardrobe. I blame the winter.

Speaking of winter, I completely erased from my memory how annoying it actually is. Its not the cold, more the having to mentally prepare at an early hour for a) being warm enough on my bike b) not being too warm so to sweat on my bike ride c) not being too warm in the sub-tropical mezzanine where I sit and b) that is passable for the office. All too hard at 7am in the morning.. or 8am.. I think all these layers of clothing are just staking their territory and taking over the apartment (considering I have enough clothes)...

I had my second acupuncture session last night and it hurt a lot this time. I also felt really sleepy afterwards unlike last time when I turned into a ball of energy. According to my acupuncturist I have yang rising. It will be interesting to see in a few weeks how I feel and whether some of my problems go away.

Im going to have a swim and a steam room followed by a nice spa, so Im nice and relaxed for bed. I cant believe its like Friday tomorrow - Birthday in a couple of days although looks like most of my friends have forgotten (hint hint!)

Phil & I at the Top of the Rock

Im soo lazy! Im still trying to organise the photos from New York. To be fair - there was 720 photos to sort out. I have reduced that down to around 230 something but am still working on it.

Franz Ferdinand was cool, we missed the first band (in the bar) but we saw a bit of the Editors who weren't too bad at all. FF were good but I thought they played their big two hits too early. They ended up pulling out some great songs at the end though which proved me wrong but I feel that nothing finishes a concert like one great big singalong that was Take Me Out. Oh well, great gig none the less.

Our party was quiet quiet quiet, although the people that came more than made up for it, there was just others I wished had come. Such is life I guess.

Will try to post more frequently from now on.. if I have time.. argghhh!
