So....
I need to set some sort of calendar alarm to post! Im terrible lately.
On Sunday night, Phil and I went to see the Paradise Gardens in Victoria Park, E3. It was your typical festival type thing but the Les Commandos Percu who were on at the end of each evening were fantastic. I think they are a French group so if you get a chance to see them do check them out. Phil has some photos but I just have to extract them off his camera (along with mine).
On Monday, we finally got a chance to go see the Hayward Gallery's new exhibition. Personally, I wasn't that impressed. They only used the lower area of the gallery when normally they use both floors and are a lot more in depth. It seemed like the spent all their money getting the Picasso's and a Dali... A lot of the other material seemed like they were clutching at straws. On the other hand, Phil absolutely loved it. Being European and therefore attaining automatic cultural status (unlike Aussies) He actually got all these arty farty namby pamby references. So if thats youre bag (and there is nothing wrong with that) then this exhibition is for you otherwise I'd perhaps give it a miss this time.
After the exhibition, I went and bought myself a Moleskin sketchbook which I plan to take to Stockholm, Sweden which is where Im going this weekend. We hopped on a train down to Balham in South London to visit our friend Ville, who had just returned from a trip in Oz. We ended up in this pub called the Duke of Devonshire wasn't too bad at all. I was musing that South London is like East London, a bit edgy, a bit trendy but without any decent transport links.. :O
Anyways if you have any tips for Stockholm, feel free to comment!
