Visiting the National Gallery (again)
So I went to the National Gallery to see the Americans in Paris exhibition which closes this Sunday May 21st. The gallery does a late opening on Wednesdays and on the side of the gallery where it was, there was a live band and a little bar set up. Nice way to brighten up mid-week anyway.
The exhibition was £9 to get in which was a little on the pricy side but I did really enjoy the exhibition, despite what Timeout had to say about it. There was some stunning pieces which really seem to capture the emotions of the sitters. Madame X by John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) was one of my favourites. Its also the piece used to advertise the exhibition. I bought a postcard to send to my parentals. There were some other highlights but I put away my catalogue with my notes in and to be honest, Im so tired that walking to the next room to retrieve it, is too much effort.
I have to iron my new linen pants that I bought from Asos (in the style of Kate Moss!) which are fantastic but require ironing - ick! Time for some sleep after that *zzzzzzzzz
